Lacrosse Camp Registration

Lacrosse Camp Staff

Hi Lorne,

I just wanted to pass on how much my son, Tommy enjoyed the camp this past week. He is already planning on next year! He was especially complimentary about all of the coaches. Picking up all of the boys at the airport last night at 11:00 was fun — they were tired but all had big smiles on their faces. Tommy has done a number of camps, but I have to say this is by far his favorite.

Thanks for everything,
Cindy Hanrahan

Lorne personally directs each of his camps, and believes that this is the only way to provide a cohesive curriculum where the entire camp learns step by step the team systems that Lorne learned and used throughout his playing and coaching career. Lorne hand picks all staff members for their lacrosse background, work ethic, and most importantly for their ability to motivate, inspire, and work well with kids. Many coaches come back year after year, so chances are if you are a returning camper you will recognize some faces.

UO alum and Lakeridge coach Trevor Tesar returns as the Assistant Director at the UO camps. As always, a large contingent of UO players and coaches will play significant roles in staffing the Oregon camps. The Tahoe camp is staffed by local college players, college coaches, and high school coaches. Each summer there is a core group of coaches who work all camps and who have worked with Lorne for a number of years. As a staff we take a proactive approach to teaching the game on a team and individual level.

Specific situations and concepts are introduced and analyzed by the staff in front of the entire camp, and then within each division during drill work and games coaches teach more on the individual level, taking players aside to do 1v1 instruction when needed.

Typically the staff at a Lorne Smith camp includes current college players and coaches, and high school coaches — each with a passion for the game that comes right through in their enthusiasm for coaching and helping you get better.

Camper to coach ratio is excellent at 8:1, and these same coaches live in the dorms at overnight camps to provide 24 hour dorm supervision.
